Creating a Clearing

We journey together in the forest of your life so that we might create some space in which you can hear more clearly, see more closely, and understand more deeply what the universe or Ultimate Reality is up to in your life.

We listen for where the winds are blowing and the currents are flowing, a discovery on which direction you’re headed.
Together we do, as Martha Postlewaite writes,

“…create a clearing in the dense forest of your life and wait there patiently, until the song that is yours alone to sing falls into your open cupped hands, and you recognize and greet it.” (Excerpted from “Clearing” by Martha Postlewaite)

Looking at Layers

Each life is richly textured and has layers upon
layers in it. In spiritual companionship, together, we peel back those
layers to examine them a little more closely to see what stories they hold
and how they have added depth to your life.

Seeing Reflections

I listen deeply to the stories you share with me, and together, we reflect on where the Divine has been made real to you; on how far you’ve traveled, and the direction(s) you’re exploring as you move forward.

Enjoying the Respite

The spiritual journey is not for the faint of heart and rest is an important part of the story. I offer you gentle respite and an invitation to let go of agendas and outcomes. We stop searching for“the right answers” and rest in what is true for you. We rest in your soul and body wisdom and in what you already know. We welcome a gentler rhythm so you can catch your breath, take stock, and gain strength for whatever is next along your path.

Interfaith

As your spiritual companion in a beautiful and increasingly diverse world, I don’t need you to believe in any particular dogma or creed. I am trained to companion people from various faith traditions, religious backgrounds, and philosophies, including those who understand themselves to be “spiritually independent.” I honor and embrace the common wisdom, beauty, and universal truths of all faith traditions and spiritual perspectives.

Non-Directive

I won’t be telling you what to do, what to believe, or how to think! In fact, I believe that you are the expert on your spiritual life, and given time, focused attention, and prayerful and meditative reflection, you can discern what is best. I can help teach you skills for discernment, and by doing so, you can access your deep
inner wisdom and live your way into a deeper connection with the God of your Understanding, with Spirit, Breath, Nature, or whatever it is that
you call Sacred.

Investing In Yourself

It is an Investment— Engaging in Spiritual Direction is an investment of time and money because you’re worth it.  Sessions usually last about an hour, and many clients have a session every 4 to 6 weeks. Sometimes a client has sessions more often depending on what is happening and if they feel they need more support during certain seasons, and sometimes the space between sessions is a little longer. It’s unique to the person who is seeking companionship. 

I offer an initial 20-minute visit at no charge so that we might see if we are a good fit for one another.

I offer a sliding scale fee from $50-$100 per session.

Accessible

If life circumstances don’t allow you to pay somewhere along the slide scale range, please inquire about this with me. It is part of my spiritual practice to have one pro bono client and, on occasion, two. If my pro bono spot(s) are taken, I will help you find another spiritual director/companion.

Please share with me any accommodations that might help you experience our sessions in the best way possible. I am someone who lives with a disability and chronic conditions, and I welcome your requests for accommodations so that I may learn and care for you mindfully.
